Personal:
Fantasy artist and
illustrator, Alain Viesca freelances for several small companies and exhibits his
work throughout the year mainly on the East and West coasts. Holding in
particular interests art, science, anything hi-tech and of course fantasy. He
has been working professionally since 1990 and is currently running his own
studio incorporating digital matte painting, 3d modeling and traditional art
techniques into his work.

My goal as an artist, illustrator, and 3D modeler is to provide creative
concepts and visuals in a unique and
memorable way that will enhance the artwork.
Skills:
Custom illustration (traditional & digital), vhs
cover art, cd audio book art, client specific 3d
models & content, custom animation clips, custom website graphics, photo
reconstruction and retouching, posters, indoor and outdoor signage, maps,
charts and multimedia art. My main
strengths lie in 3d modeling, Digital matte painting and Illustration.
Illustration
skills (Mac & PC):
Expertise using
PC/Windows and Mac OS, Adobe Photoshop software CS2, Extensive experience using
3D Studio Max, Zbrush, some use of Dreamweaver, Adobe After Effects and limited experience in
Illustrator as well as traditional means using pen and ink, pencils,
architectural markers, airbrush and watercolor. Styles include realistic,
stylized, technical or cartoon. I specialize in digital matte painting and CG
modeling.
Digital photo
retouching and reconstruction, color correction and special effects. Some website design and graphics including animated gifs and
rollovers using Macromedia software.
Light typing with
familiarity with Excel, Microsoft Word and Acrobat. Experience
in initial concept and design, photo direction and full color or spot color art
for print or media.
Experience:
I have been running my own
fine arts and freelance illustration studio since 1993 part time and full time
as of 2003 as well as licensing out pin up art and media for use in a t-shirt
line and other upper body apparel, providing art and concept illustrations for
books and audio cd covers, traveling to exhibitions, conventions and galleries
displaying and selling my work and having to network and build and maintain my
own business contacts.
